 Kiln dried wooden bases with large professional bait pedal, easier to set than metal pedals. We recommend you first put down the Rat Trap unset with bait. Rats are shy and you need to convince them they will not get hurt. Once they have eaten the bait a few times, rebait and se the trap and you will have good results. A Pest Control Professional gave us another good tip: In garages and out buildings, nail the trap to the wall vertically 3" off the floor with the bait pedal on the end opposite the floor. Rats will have to stretch up on their hind legs to get the bait and this reduces their mobility and ensures your catch.
